DOOM 3 is a great game. Not necessarily for the gameplay aspects, but for the fact that my eyes and ears never went a moment without being completely entertained. DOOM 3 is extremely immersive with about as perfect a presentation as I've ever seen in a game. Visually, it has no peer at the moment. Even Far Cry's impressive vistas and wonderful environments can't stand up to the artistic and technical might of this sensory feast. Playing this on a 5.1 surround sound in the dark is an intense experience that, if possible, must be enjoyed.

The crew of an experimental, high-tech submersible is called into action to investigate a mysterious nuclear submarine crash. A series of strange encounters leads the crew to suspect the accident was caused by an extraterrestrial craft, and that they may be participating in an encounter with an alien species. However, in order to make contact, they must not only brave the abyss, an exceedingly deep underwater canyon, but also deal with the violent actions of one of their own crew members, an increasingly paranoid Navy SEAL officer. Approved by director James Cameron, The Abyss: Special Edition is an extended director's cut of the 1989 underwater science fiction epic, reinstating nearly a half hour of footage removed from the original release under studio pressure. Much of the restored footage places the film's events in a grander political context, as the crew's mission becomes a factor in the dangerous escalation of nuclear tension between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. The largest change involves the film's ending, which provides further information on the aliens' mission on Earth, bringing the film to closer to Cameron's intention: a modern remake of Robert Wise's The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Wile E. Coyote (also known simply as "The Coyote") and the Road Runner are cartoon characters from a series of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons, created by animation director Chuck Jones in 1948 for Warner Brothers. The character went on to star in a long-running series of theatrical cartoon shorts and occasional made-for-television cartoon. The E never refers to a name within the context of the cartoon, but a 1975 comic has it standing for 'Ethelbert'.

The Roadrunner shorts are very simple in their premise: the Road Runner, a flightless cartoon bird (loosely based on a real bird, the Greater Roadrunner), is chased down the highways of the Southwestern United States by a hungry coyote, named Wile E. Coyote (a pun on "wily coyote"). Despite numerous clever attempts, the coyote never catches or kills the Road Runner, and all of his elaborate schemes end up injuring himself in humorous instances of highly exagerated cartoon slapstick violence.

Many of the enhancement packs are compressed inside 7z files. You will need 7-Zip to decompress them. It can do everything WinRAR can, and more. You can find it here:

All of the 7z files are compressed in a way so it is easy for you to insert them into Doomsday. The folder paths are all automatically layed out for you. You simply open a 7z file, select all the contents, and extract to the main Doomsday folder. Done.

The files in this collection are all ordered by installation priority, with a number before their filenames. I suggest you install everything in this order, starting with the main folder, and then sub folders. If you are ever asked to overwrite something while extracting, say yes.

Instructions:

1) Extract the Doom, Heretic, and Hexen WADs to a temp directory.

2) Run "jDoom v1.8.6.exe". Install in default directory of C:\Doomsday.

3) When it asks for the WAD files, point it to each of the WAD files in the temp directory you made. Remember that DOOM.WAD is actually Ultimate Doom. Don't bother linking Shareware Doom or Doom 1. Just link Ultimate Doom to DOOM.WAD.

4) Say yes to placing a desktop icon for Doomsday KickStart, if you like.

5) Extract the contents of "GLBSP.7z" to C:\Doomsday.

6) Begin installing the enhancement packs for the games you have installed. Do them in the numbered order which the files appear. If the file is a 7z, extract it's contents to C:\Doomsday. If the file is an exe, tell it to install in C:\Doomsday. Simple right? If you are asked to overwrite the files or folders, say yes.

7) Run Doomsday Kickstart from the Desktop or Start Menu. It may not pop up above your current open windows, so look on your taskbar for it.

8) Choose the game you would like to play from the pull down box. Check the "Add-Ons" tab, and if anything is listed, be sure to check it.

9) Now go to the main "Graphics" tab, and pick OpenGL, or Direct3D. Pick your Color Depth. Pick your screen Resolution. Don't check any of the boxes to the right unless you know what you are doing.

The highly anticipated sequel to BioWare's hit role-playing game Baldur's Gate is just a few months away, and its publisher, Interplay, released Icewind Dale to tide over role-playing game fans while they wait. But Icewind Dale isn't just a pastime; it's an excellent game in its own right. Though it's based on the Baldur's Gate engine and is also set in the same Advanced Dungeons & Dragons universe, Icewind Dale's originality and fast pacing make the game uniquely satisfying.

Icewind Dale is self-consciously similar to Baldur's Gate: Both games take place in the Forgotten Realms, and Icewind Dale recycles not only Baldur's Gate's engine but also a good deal of the older game's graphics. Specifically, your six player characters are represented with the same small, animated sprites from BioWare's older game, and you might quickly recognize a lot of the equipment that was carried over.

Otherwise, Icewind Dale is a good-looking game that has an especially noteworthy original symphonic soundtrack by composer Jeremy Soule. The sweeping score seems to lend purpose to everything that goes on in the game. Icewind Dale also uses an effective storytelling technique in which the game's six chapters are broken down into narrated cinematic sequences detailing the game's events as chapters in a beautifully illustrated tome. Unfortunately, some of the player-character voices sound really bad, especially compared with the rest of the spoken dialogue in the game: Icewind Dale features many exceptional voice-acting performances for the game's major nonplayer characters. The game's main villain is especially memorable.

Aside from its contextual similarity, Icewind Dale actually has little in common with Baldur's Gate. You'll rarely if ever get caught up in solving various puzzles or finding miscellaneous trinkets for townspeople. Instead, you'll fight monsters, find powerful artifacts, and explore some very interesting environments. Over the course of the game, you'll fight huge quantities of an even greater variety of different creatures. Your small squad of characters will gradually grow from mere weaklings into stupendously powerful warriors and magic users, and the game is deftly balanced so that you never advance too quickly or too slowly, but are always well prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. Several species of classic AD&D monsters that didn't appear in Baldur's Gate, such as trolls, umber hulks, and giants, are just a few of the many different foes you'll face over the course of Icewind Dale's epic quest. The game is suitably long, but the best part is that there's virtually never a dull moment: Each area in the game is exciting to explore, like the city nestled in the warmth of a huge life-giving oak, or the frozen subterranean aquarium.

In spite of its generally fast pacing, Icewind Dale gets off to a slow start. You begin by creating six characters from scratch, using standard second-edition AD&D race and class combinations. You must come up with a well-balanced team that can dish out damage as well as take it, and also be able to adapt to new types of situations. Creating your characters is a laborious process, as you not only need to randomly roll up and redistribute your attribute points, but you also need to choose the character's weapon proficiencies, his portrait, and even his voice. Like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale lets you import your own pictures and sounds into the game, and it even lets you write your character's biography if you so choose. However, it's unfortunate that there's no way to get some guidance during the crucial character-creation phase; the game instead assumes you have an intimate familiarity with the nuances of the AD&D class system, though it does let you import a few basic pre-generated characters into your party if you'd rather get started more quickly.

The game's isometric perspective is identical to that in Baldur's Gate, but the view angle isn't as close to the characters as in the more recent Planescape: Torment, which also used BioWare's Infinity engine. Like both previous Infinity engine games, exploration in Icewind Dale uses an interface that seems better suited to real-time strategy games: You just select your characters and click where you want them to move. Each area in the game lies shrouded in a fog of war until you pass your characters through, revealing the terrain beneath. Icewind Dale doesn't let you play at a resolution higher than the default 640x480, and though the game has an unsupported 3D-accelerated mode, all it seems to do is make the fog of war look a little smoother on the edges. Furthermore, inventory management in Icewind Dale remains identical to that in Baldur's Gate and Torment so that each character is restricted both by encumbrance and also by having room for only a small number of individual items. Later in the game, it can get frustrating trying to find room for anything else to carry just because Icewind Dale treats a magic ring or a gemstone as being the same size as a battle-ax or a suit of armor.

It might be easier to deal with this turbulence at work if Kate wasn't already off balance at home, struggling to connect with her nine-year-old niece, Zoe (ABIGAIL BRESLIN), who has recently-and very unexpectedly-come to live with her. A bright, perceptive child more comfortable with fish sticks than foie gras, Zoe is clearly out of place in Kate's routine but Kate is determined to make a home for her-just as soon as she figures out how.

"Baldur's Gate" is a role-playing game that uses the rule set of Advanced Dungeons & Dragon (AD&D). You create your hero by choosing one of the available classes (fighter, thief, mage, priest, ranger, and druid, including sub-classes, dual- and multi-class characters), his (or her) alignment, weapon proficiency etc. For the combat system, a special engine called Infinity Engine is used: the battles are turn-based, but are so fast-paced that the player has an illusion of fighting in real time. You can pause the battle at any time and assign commands (such a spells) to your party members. You can also freely move them around during battles. Set in the universe of Forgotten Realms, "Baldur's Gate" is the first part of the saga that lets you explore various towns and wilderness, undertake many side-quest, and find companions for your long journey.

Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast provides four new areas for you to explore, all of which share the richness that made Baldur's Gate a groundbreaking masterpiece. Players are given the opportunity to explore a few new islands, visit a suburb of Baldur's Gate, and engage in a good old-fashioned dungeon crawl beneath Durlag's Tower. Players can also embark on a quest that will take them back into the city of Baldur's Gate itself. These new quests tend to be even more involved and challenging than those found in the initial game, as they gravitate more toward puzzle solving than pure combat.

The additional areas are at least as satisfying as any found in the original, featuring three new types of monsters as well as new magic items, enemies, and spells, all of which are woven seamlessly into the game play. Those who are already deeply involved in a campaign or have already completed the game need not start over to take advantage of the expansion. Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast raises the character experience cap by at least one level and can be integrated at any time during your campaign, easily providing an additional 20 hours of game play.
